We stopped off at Brambles hotel in Inveraray after a road trip around Scotlands North Coast 500. We started in Edinburgh on Calton Hill, then went up to Inverness, then up to the North Coast 500, before heading back down to Inverary and finished at Loch Lomond Waterfront lodges. Brambles offers a homely, stylish and relaxing retreat in a really unusual place in Scotland. Inveraray really is a special place! We will be back to explore more and can’t wait to come back to Brambles.
We stayed at Brambles back in 2020 and always said we would love to go back. So glad we did as it was as comfy, relaxing and welcoming as last time. We stayed in a beautifully decorated and furnished room across the road from the cafe. It was warm and had everything you could possibly want including the most comfy bed and linen. All of the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The free continental breakfast has everything you need with good quality produce. We opted for a cooked breakfast on our last day and this was also delicious. We also had an afternoon tea as part of their winter offer with tea, sandwiches and the most delicious scones. Special shout out to Heather who was so friendly and gave us some great tips about the area. We ate at the George which was good and the Ben Cruachan Inn a 20 min drive to Loch Awe which was great value and had a very interesting menu with the drive. Will 100% be back!
We were supposed to stay one night but our ferry was cancelled so we stayed for two additional nights because night one was so fantastic and I am very glad we did! We stayed in room 14 which was gorgeously renovated and had a bathtub to die for! The food at the restaurant was delicious and the baked goods were made in-house each day. Heather was our server each morning and was SO sweet! I’ve never been so glad to have travel plans interrupted and will never forget this stay! If anyone is on the fence of where to stay in Inverary, I cannot recommend Brambles more highly!
If you have not had the banana bread at Brambles of Inveraray you are missing out! Heather, the sweetest person ever, suggested while I was struggling to pick something. Let’s just say nothing will never compare to that first bite…just pure happiness. It’s moist, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. The combination of ripe bananas and warm spices creates a heavenly aroma. Whether you enjoy it with a cup of coffee or as a sweet treat on its own, the banana bread at Brambles of Inveraray is definitely worth a try. Thank you Heather for making us feel at home and brightening our day along with it!
We visited the coffee shop for a light lunch and coffee. Staff are all so very lovely, helpful and friendly. The food was excellent, best coffee we have had, baking is very fresh and light, all served with a smile. Would most definitely recommend a visit to this amazing place.
Super-nice wee hotel / B&B in Inveraray: we had a spacious apartment that was newly refurbished and decorated, very clean and comfortable. The bed was luxurious – spotless and very comfortable. The room was pin-drop quiet and tranquil. A lovely place to stop and enjoy Inveraray.
We have returned from a wonderful stay at Brambles Attic Apartment. Spacious, comfortable, beautiful. Well equipped kitchen with great selection of teas and coffee, very comfy bed, a real home from home, great attention to detail. Breakfast in the cafe was delicious. A big Thankyou to Victoria, Stewart and Kirsty, who all went out of their way to ensure we had the best experience!
I cannot write enough good things about this place. Was enthusiastically greeted by staff after the regular check in times. So very helpful and set a great tone for our experience there. Phenomenal service. Great rooms. Great bathrooms with shower and tub. Great little town and pubs. Great local experience. It’s what you want when visiting Scotland.
Excellent stay and lovely accommodation. Very friendly staff who do everything to make your stay a great experience. Location is only a short stroll to the harbour where you have the most stunning views over the loch. No hesitation in recommending Brambles for a stay in Inveraray.
The Brambles Cafe is our usual destination for a Sunday bikers breakfast stop. This time we stayed over on a mini tour. The room was phenomenal. Spotlessly clean, huge, a massive bathroom, it was more like a mini suite. Tea and coffee facilities topped the a Caramel Wafer! The location is right on the shore too and a one minute walk from the castle. 11/10 is simply not enough.
What a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful Scottish town. We stayed in one of their newest rooms on the second floor across the road from the cafe where you check in. We were a little early for check in so we had coffee (great coffee!) and scones served by very friendly and attentive staff. We received great advice for parking which otherwise could have been difficult. They were genuinely interested in what we were doing and gave us some great advice. Check in was seamless and accompanied by a great Scottish welcome. The room was large enough to spread out with our suitcases (a problem with other places we stayed) and the bathroom was new and very practical. Breakfast the next morning was served in the cafe comprising a generous spread cereals, bread, jams and cold meats. In addition we had the choice of the al la carte menu. We had the eggs benedict which was great. Again the cafe staff were efficient bur very friendly and chatty. A perfect location literally in the middle of town. But still very quiet at night. Would highly recommend!
Really enjoyed our overnight stay in Brambles. Had lunch in there before checking in and staff were excellent. Heather served us and gave us all the information we needed for our stay. Rooms were spacious, spotless and the bed was so comfy, had one of the best nights sleep ever. The continental breakfast was fabulous with good quality produce and choice. Would definitely stay again.
